JULIAN TAYLOR

Julian Taylor formed the company in 1985. His experience in the scrap business began in 1972 at a subsidiary of Amalgamated Metal Corporation, where he spent 7 years, prior to 6 years at a S&W Beresford subsidiary. It was here that Julian expanded his trading knowledge and management skills, enabling him to shape Tangent successfully into a modern international trading company with the ability to meet all the regulatory requirements and the financial disciplines that this entails.
 
DARREN LEIGH

Darren Leigh joined the company in May 1986, having acquired a sound knowledge of the scrap business, initially at Brookside Metal Company and then at Mountstar Metal Limited. He fast became a well known number 1, with a reputation for tenacity and enthusiasm that helped develop and expand Tangent’s activities worldwide. Darren was welcomed to the Board in 1991 and became a shareholder at that time. His responsibilities are for the trading of our company, working closely with Julian Taylor and Robert Borland.
 
NAUSHINA REID

Naushina Reid joined the company at its inception in 1985, with 14 years experience of administration and financial services in the London offices of major international metal companies. In 1991, she was welcomed to the Board and became a shareholder. With overall responsibility for accounting systems and financial controls of the company, Naushina is responsible for effecting the company’s enviable reputation in executing timely payments.
 
ROBERT BORLAND

Robert Borland began his career with Tangent in 1993, having completed his university education in the USA, followed by a brief but important period ‘at the coalface’ working in a scrap yard. He has assisted Darren with the expansion of the company during recent years and is now responsible for much of the company’s trading.
 
CHRIS MCCARTHY

Chris McCarthy joined Tangent in 1990, highly experienced in international shipping. He has helped direct Tangent’s significant diversification from a predominantly truck based European business in 1990 to the worldwide, deep sea movements that are the mainstay of the company’s business today.
 
GEMMA HAMILTON

Gemma Hamilton joined the company in February 2005 and has proved her value time and again. A great asset to Tangent Trading, particularly in her role assisting Naushina in the running of client accounts, Gemma is charm personified. Never more so when chasing payment - it only takes one call!
 
CATHY O'DONNELL

Cathy O’Donnell joined Tangent in January 2006 to assist Chris with all shipments. Cathy is unflappable, providing a calm and reassuring hand to steady the ship when it is most needed. Our clients welcome her efficiency and consistently benefit from her good work.
 
EMILIO MIGUEZ

Emilio Miguez joined the company in May 2006 bringing a unique perspective to Tangent Trading. In an environment of ever complex administration, Emilio provides additional analysis and the attention to detail so both we and our clients can rest assured we are on solid ground with each and every trade.
